FAU supports BVT-researcher with ETI-funding

Dr. Anna Becker im Labor

The Emerging Talents Initiative of FAU promotes outstanding talents by providing postdoctoral researchers with an opportunity to develop scientific independence. We are pleased to inform, that this year our colleague – Dr. Anna Becker – was awarded funding in a frame of the ETI program for research related to koi herpesvirus. The funding allows performing preliminary experiments in a search of the structures of carp cells, that play an important role during the infection with koi herpesvirus. In order to identify such structures, reliable and sensitive analytical methods are needed and will be established over the next months in the group of Dr. Anna Becker, thank to the funding . The newly established methods and knowledge gained within this work will be further used for developing a research project application for DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft – German Research Foundation). Finally, the insights into the KHV infection process can be used in the future to combat the infection endangering carps and develop new measures against it.

We congratulate our colleague and wish her great success with her work and application.
